Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we are asked most often. If yours is not here, get in touch.
General
What kind of organisations do you work with?
Most of our clients are mid-sized to large organisations in financial services, healthcare, development and the public sector — typically where a system failing has consequences beyond inconvenience. We also take on smaller engagements where the technical problem is interesting and well defined.
Where are you based, and do you work outside Zimbabwe?
Our office is in Harare and roughly half of our work is delivered elsewhere in the region — South Africa, Kenya, Zambia and Botswana. We travel for discovery and delivery milestones and work remotely in between.
Services
Can you take over a project someone else started?
Yes, and we do it often. We begin with a technical assessment — usually one to two weeks — that tells you honestly what you have, what it would cost to continue it, and what it would cost to replace it. You get that assessment whether or not you go on to engage us.
Do you provide ongoing support after a project ends?
Yes. Most clients move onto a managed support agreement once a system is live, with response times committed in writing. It is optional — we hand over full source code and documentation either way.
How long does a typical penetration test take?
A focused web application test is usually one to two weeks including reporting. A full infrastructure engagement is typically three to six weeks. A retest of the findings is included as standard.
Billing
How do you price your work?
Discovery phases are fixed price. Delivery work is usually time and materials against an agreed estimate, with a cap you approve before we start. Managed support is a fixed monthly fee. We will always tell you which model we think fits and why.
Do you require payment upfront?
For new clients we invoice a deposit at the start of an engagement, then monthly in arrears. For established clients we invoice monthly.
Support
What are your support hours?
Standard support runs 08:00–17:00 weekdays. Extended and 24/7 cover is available on managed support agreements, with response times set out in the service schedule.
Who owns the code you write for us?
You do. On completion you receive the full source code, the deployment configuration and the documentation. We do not retain rights over work delivered under a client engagement, and we do not use proprietary frameworks that lock you to us.
